”Ysäri ja Carrols! Siellä oli joskus hurja tarjous, puolen litran pirtelö viisi markkaa. Olin yllytyshullu, joten kaveri heitti päästään tarjoavansa koko setin jos jaksaisin kiskoa puolessa tunnissa kuusi sellaista. Kolmekymppiä oli siihen aikaan omaan budjettiin aika iso summa, mutta yllytyshullulta sokerihiireltä tuollaista haastetta on yksinkertaisesti mahdoton kieltää.
Valitsin lempimakuani eli banaania ja ehtona halusin pirtelöiden sulavan hetken pöydällä ennen kuin kello laitetaan käyntiin, sillä liian sakeana pirtelöä ei yksinkertaisesti voinut juoda nopeasti. Muistan sen pahan olon, joka iski noin 15 minuutin kohdalla ja vielä oli reilut kaksi purkkia jäljellä.
Televisiossa pyöri tuolloin ohjelma, jonka nimi oli kait ”Ei voi olla totta!” ja siinä olevan ruokahaasteen, kun eräs mies söi jotakin todella tulista ruokaa. Äijä jaksoi tsempata loppuun asti ja teki jonkin maailmanennätyksen, joten kaivoin saman asenteen esiin ja viimeiset pisarat upposivat kurkusta alas 27 minuutin jälkeen. Olo oli karmea, silti olin tyytyväinen ja kaveri kaivoi kuvettaan.”
